The r7 CGB Max range of golf clubs - drivers, fairway woods and irons – is a premium series from TalyorMade. The TaylorMade r7 CGB Max driver is a unique mixture of advanced technology that is essentially a race car version of a golf club driver. The ‘Max’ stands for maximum and reflects the golf driver’s maximum speed, distance, forgiveness and accuracy. This club is easy to use, long, extremely forgiving and – just like a race car – has maximum visual appeal.
The first thing that you will notice about this TaylorMade golf driver is the look – a distinctively shaped triangular titanium clubhead with a deep red color. But this driver is not all about the looks.
Under the bonnet are three technologies that combine to make this one of the most easy and longest golf club drivers. First is TaylorMade’s Movable Weight Technology which features three weights on the toe, heel and back. Changing these weights will influence the golf ball’s flight and allows you to fine tune accuracy and distance to suit your swing.
If you want a slight fade (the ball to move right), you simply move the weight to the toe of the club (right side). For a slight draw (the ball to move left), you move the weight to the middle of the club. For a, even larger draw you move the weight to the left side. With a maximum trajectory change of 35 yards, by refining these weights you will find the right combination for your swing very quickly.
The CGB refers to “Center of Gravity Back” and is reflected in the triangular clubhead. This shape enables the center of gravity (CG) to be pushed right to the back of the clubface and ensures that the golf ball is struck far and high. It also means that the r7 CGB Max is a very forgiving driver – miss hits can still be struck straighter and longer than a regular driver.
The final technology incorporated by TalyorMade into the r7 CGB max is the Inverted Cone. This changes how the clubface behaves on impact and ensures that the ball still leaves at high speed even when you miss the sweet spot. Another reason why this driver is so forgiving.
The r7 CGB Max has SuperFast Technology which makes the club lighter so that it can be swung faster for more distance. This incorporates a very light RE*AX SF 45 Mitsubushi Rayon graphite shaft, maximum light grip and a further inch in club length.
The titanium club head is 460cc. It is available in lofts of 9.5, 10.5 and High Trajectory. Either right or left-handed versions are available.
