The Taylor Made r7 CGB Max Limited driver is for the golf player looking for the next step in the evolution of driver customization. It is essentially 9 drivers in one.

By blending SelectFit and Movable Weight Technology, Taylor Made has produced a golf driver that has an astonishing 1,071 different possible configurations which can be produced in minutes. This gives the player more control over the direction and distance of their drives.

The SelectFit technology means that a player can change shafts to suit their swing, weather or course. The r7 CGB Max Limited golf club driver comes with three different inter-changeable shafts using one bolt with a special torque wrench (free with the driver). Each shaft offers a different type of performance.

The Rombax 75 grams shaft by Fujikura is medium weight, has a medium-firm tip and is designed for low spin and medium launch angle. The Diamana White Board by Mitsubishi is a lightweight shaft at 65 grams, has a firm tip and mid-section, and is designed for low launch angle and reduced spin. The Ozik XCon by Matrix is an extremely light shaft at 55 grams, has a medium soft tip, and is engineered for low spin and high launch angle.

Typically, players with high swing speed can use the heavier shafts for more control. Lighter shafts can increase the player’s swing speed and therefore distance. Those with more aggressive swing styles can be aided by firm-tipped shafts which promote lower ball flight and a straighter drive. Those who have a more smooth swing can use the medium and soft-tipped shafts for higher ball flight and distance.

Movable Weight Technology was first introduced in 2006 with the r7 Quad driver and the company continued to introduce it to a range of clubs including putters, other drivers, hybrids and woods. This Talyor Made golf driver comes with nine weights (1,4,6,8,10,12,14 and 16 grams) which can be placed on three parts of the driver to influence the center of gravity and, in turn, the trajectory of the golf ball. There are over 357 different possible center of gravity combinations.

The 415cc titanium head has a triangular shape and deep face. This differs from the standard r7 CGB max driver which has a more rounded club head. The Limited versions also has the center of gravity located further back for higher launch angles and distance.

The r7 CGB Max Limited and various parts are packaged in eye-appealing box. The total kit includes: clubhead; 3 shafts; two bolts; wrench; nine weights; and, one headcover.

The lofts are 8.5, 9.5 and 10.5; the driver clubhead 415 cc.
