The Callaway Hyper X golf driver is so good it made the 2008 Golfer’s Digest Hot List.

The Callaway engineers designed the Hyper X Driver to produce higher ball speed across the entire face and establish the club as the new benchmark amongst all-titanium drivers. The higher ball speed means that the driver has one of the largest effective hitting areas leading to longer, straighter drives – even with miss-hits.

It took the company three years to produce the Hyperbolic Face Technology that gives the Hyper X its name. And it is this technology which gives the golf club driver faster ball speed across the entire clubface.

Video Review:

By strategically using hyperbolic shaping to sculpt the clubface, the Callaway engineers have enlarged the effective hitting area to ensure that even off-center hits go long and straight. Off-center hits with the Hyper X will travel much further than those hit with a driver that doesn’t incorporate the Hyperbolic Face Technology. This means that a player using the Hyper X will have a smaller difference between the distance of their on-center hits and off-center hits. In other words, they will be able to drive longer and more consistently.

The 460 cc clubhead is a traditional looking Callaway driver and has an eye-catching combination of silver, black and blue. It has been optimized for a high-moment of inertia (MOI) for more forgiveness and stability. The Short, Straight, Hollow, Hosel (S2H2) allows the hosel to be shorter, meaning the weight is lower and closer to the perimeter area of the clubhead.

The Modified X-Sole helps the player to align the driver and ball at address.

This very durable driver is well balance, has exceptional feel and is extremely forgiving. More importantly it is fun to hit. It is a noticeable improvement on the old ‘X’ driver.

The shaft is a Callaway Golf Fit-On X by Fujikura. The loft degrees are 9.0, 10.0, 11.0 with a 1 degree face closed angle.

Right and left-handed models are available.

A Callaway Hyper X Tour is also available for more skilful players.
